Pre-school staff –

Kiera Boyle – Pre-school Leader

I have a Level 3 CYPW-Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce (Early Years Pathway). I enjoy working with children because I get great satisfaction out of seeing children progress. Witnessing them being happy and enjoying playing at the pre-school is so rewarding and I get to interact with them as they play. I especially enjoy helping children to become intrinsically motivated and independent.  My favourite book to read with the children is ‘This is the Bear’ by Helen Craig. I live with my family in Knebworth.  I enjoy catching up with friends and I often go out for dinner and to the cinema. I enjoy spending my Sundays having a big family meal with all of my family.

Jo Critchley – Deputy Leader

I joined St Michael’s Pre-school as Deputy Leader in September 2017.  I have a Level 3 CYPW -Diploma in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce (Early Years Pathway), which I gained in 2013.  Early years teaching has been part of my life for many years and is something I have enjoyed immensely.  Every day is different working with children, as they face challenges to understand and progress on their educational journey, which is something I feel privileged to be part of.  I live in the village with my partner and town children, one of which attended the pre-school and inspired my journey into early years.  I enjoy walking and going out to dinner with my friends.  My favourite book from childhood is ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by Judith Kerr.  I love sharing this book; it always creates lots of opportunity for discussion, as well as, laughter at the possibilities of this ever happening in real life.

Kirsty Citrano – Administration

I joined the pre-school in February 2016 and I am responsible for billing, finances and other administrative tasks.  I usually work from home but I often pop in with the morning post or when required to support staff in the day to day running of the pre-school.  I have two sons, the youngest having recently left St Michael’s Pre-school to go up to ‘big school’.  My favourite children’s book is ‘The Runway Dinner’ by Allan Ahlberg and Bruce Ingman, which was also one of my eldest son’s favourites when he was younger.

Natalya Norris – Pre-school Assistant

I live with my family in Knebworth.  I gained my Diploma in Child Care and Education qualification in June 2012. After spending an extended period of time as a student and volunteer at St Michael’s Pre-School there was an opening for a job so I jumped at the chance! I absolutely love working as a pre-school assistant and couldn’t think of a more rewarding job. Seeing the children so happy in our environment, growing and learning as they play is just fantastic. My favourite book to share with the children is ‘Superworm!’ by Julia Donaldson.

Ellie Allen – Pre-school Assistant

I joined the pre-school in April 2012 after completing a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development qualification. I enjoy working with children because of the satisfaction I get from seeing them progress as they learn through play. My favourite book to read with the children is ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Julia Donaldson. In my spare time I enjoy catching up with my friends and spending time with my family. I also enjoy going to the gym.

Jo Staddon – Pre-school Assistant

I found my love of working with children by accident!  I began by helping out as a ‘parent volunteer’ at my son’s pre-school /nursery and I was immediately ‘hooked’!   I gained my NVQ2, whilst working on a voluntary basis, and, I was then employed by the setting whilst I studied for my NVQ Level 3, which I completed by August 2010. I joined St. Michael’s Pre-school in February 2013 – and immediately realised that I had so much more to learn! I live in Knebworth with my husband and two children – Emma and Josh. We have two dogs, a cat, a bearded dragon and a tortoise! When I am not feeding the pets or driving my children to clubs or social ‘dos’, I like to spend time in my garden, swimming  or  catching up and spending time with friends

Alison Goss

I joined St Michael’s Pre-school in March 2017.  I have completed an NNEB diploma in childcare and also an HNC in childhood studies.  I previously worked as a nanny for 5 years and then worked alongside health visitors, as a community nursery nurse for 9 years.  I have always loved working with young children.  Being able to see them grow and develop, knowing that I have been a part of their journey.  I believe very strongly in children learning through play and feel that sharing and reading books with a child is really important for their development.  I live in Woolmer Green with my partner and our two children, Nathan and Lily.  I love spending time with my family.  We go on regular trips to the woods, either on our bikes or walking and enjoy  visiting grandparents who live by the seaside!
