Debbie May – Pre-school Leader

I have worked at St. Michael’s Pre-school since 2002 and became leader in January 2005. In 2012 I gained a distinction grade in a Foundation degree in Early Years. I love working with the children because every day is different and I feel privileged to be able to be a part of children’s learning and development. My husband and I have three boys. In my spare time I like to read and can think of nothing better than working on keeping my own garden looking great. My husband would also like to list shopping as one of my hobbies too! My favourite early years book is ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell. It is one that my boys loved when they were little and continues to be adored by children at the pre-school.

Kiera Boyle – Deputy Leader

I have a Level 3 CYPW-Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce (Early Years Pathway). I enjoy working with children because I get great satisfaction out of seeing children progress. Witnessing them being happy and enjoying playing at the pre-school is so rewarding and I get to interact with them as they play. I especially enjoy reading stories with the children and my favourite book to read with them is ‘This is the Bear’ by Helen Craig. I live with my partner and his young son.  I enjoy catching up with friends and I often go out for dinner and to the cinema. I enjoy spending my Sundays having a big family meal with all of my family.

Kirsty Citrano – Administration

I joined the pre-school in February 2016 and I am responsible for billing, finances and other administrative tasks.  I usually work from home but I often pop in with the morning post or when required to support staff in the day to day running of the pre-school.  I have two sons, the youngest having recently left St Michael’s Pre-school to go up to ‘big school’.  My favourite children’s book is ‘The Runway Dinner’ by Allan Ahlberg and Bruce Ingman, which was also one of my eldest son’s favourites when he was younger.

Natalya Norris – Pre-school Assistant

I live with my family in Knebworth.  I gained my Diploma in Child Care and Education qualification in June 2012. After spending an extended period of time as a student and volunteer at St Michael’s Pre-School there was an opening for a job so I jumped at the chance! I absolutely love working as a pre-school assistant and couldn’t think of a more rewarding job. Seeing the children so happy in our environment, growing and learning as they play is just fantastic. My favourite book to share with the children is ‘Superworm!’ by Julia Donaldson.

Ellie Allen – Pre-school Assistant

I joined the pre-school in April 2012 after completing a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development qualification. I enjoy working with children because of the satisfaction I get from seeing them progress as they learn through play. My favourite book to read with the children is ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Julia Donaldson. In my spare time I enjoy catching up with my friends and spending time with my family. I also enjoy going to the gym.

Jo Staddon – Pre-school Assistant

I found my love of working with children by accident!  I began by helping out as a ‘parent volunteer’ at my son’s pre-school /nursery and I was immediately ‘hooked’!   I gained my NVQ2, whilst working on a voluntary basis, and, I was then employed by the setting whilst I studied for my NVQ Level 3, which I completed by August 2010. I joined St. Michael’s Pre-school in February 2013 – and immediately realised that I had so much more to learn! I live in Knebworth with my husband and two children – Emma who is thirteen and Josh who is ten. We have two dogs, a cat, a bearded dragon and a tortoise! When I am not feeding the pets or driving my children to clubs or social ‘dos’, I like to spend time in my garden, swimming  or  catching up and spending time with friends

Louise Forbes-Pepitone – Pre-school Assistant

I joined the pre-school in September 2016.  I have completed my level 3 and 4 in Early Years.  I am passionate about working with young children and love watching them problem solve and learn through play in such a lovely environment.  My favourite book to read with the children is ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle.  I have three children and love spending time with them and my husband.  I also have a dog, two cats and two guinea pigs.
