Where pre-school children learn through play

The Pre-school is a registered charity, and as such we are always looking for new ways to help raise money to improve the resources available to the children. We list some book recommendations on our pages and if you choose to purchase something, or any other items while visiting Amazon after clicking on any of the links, then we receive a referral fee.

The Fashion Show
Thursday 20th September

The Pre-school fund-raising year was kicked off this evening with a fantastic fashion show hosted by the Katwalk Company. Eight valiant Pre-school mums and friends agreed to model clothes which they did with exuberant style. A fabulous time was had by both the participants and audience, and over £300 was raised to help refurbish the Home Corner in Pre-school. A big thank you to all those involved on and off the catwalk, and look out for news of similar events next year.

Grandparents' Day
Wednesday 19th September

Today, together with the children in Sycamore class, we invited grandparents to join us for a special session which was fun for both the children and their grandparents.

At St Michael’s Pre-school we know how important families are to our children’s learning and development and as such have always invited families to join us, not only for special events but also on a day-to-day basis.  We had not, however, ever had an event especially for grandparents. Until today that is!

Ladies' Night
Wednesday 19th November 2007

Another year, and another chance for the ladies to indulge themselves (as if they needed an excuse!). This is an opportunity for mothers, grandmothers and friends to have fun while raising money for the Pre-school. The venue will be Woolmer Green Village Hall once again, and attractions should include a range of beauty treatments - manicure, pedicure, facials, eyebrows, hand massage, back massage, Reiki healing.

If you would rather treat yourself to some retail therapy, there should several stalls selling jewellery, books, clothing and Christmas gifts. Tickets will be on sale shortly.
Christmas Pantomime Trip
Thursday 13th December 2007

This year we have booked an exciting pantomime trip for Pre-school and Sycamore class to see Jack and the Beanstalk at the Campus West Theatre in Welwyn Garden City on Thursday 13th December. We are inviting one parent or carer per child to join us on the trip. Previous experience has shown that the children love it when their parent or carer is able to join them for this trip. Please note that an adult must accompany Pre-school children under 3 years.
Christmas Nativity
Wednesday 19th December 2007

Please make yourselves available, if you can, to come and see the children perform their Christmas Nativity at a mid-morning time to be confirmed. We intend to try something a little different this year, but needless to say the children get a huge thrill from being the centre of attention in front of family and friends.
