Hertfordshire Quality Standard Award

Wonderful news. After months of planning and hard work, our Foundation Stage team have
been awarded the Hertfordshire Quality Standard for their outstanding provision for the
under fives. The team led by Reception teacher Mrs Rawson, includes Mrs Churn and all
pre-school staff - Mrs May, Mrs Vincent, Mrs Waller and Mrs Haumann. Heart felt
congratulations go to them all as the standards they had to meet were incredibly high.

After her visit to school, the verifier reported that their key strengths were :

"Very enthusiastic, skilled, caring team who are well led and have very
strong relationships with parents, children and each other"

"Well behaved, happy, independent, well motivated children, keen to learn"

"Lovely, exciting, stimulating, inviting environments both indoors and outdoors"

"Real excellent promotion and understanding of a multi-cultural ethos
- planned carefully across all areas of learning"

We have always been proud of the work going on in our Foundation Stage and this is official proof that that they are now one of the top providers in the county. Well done to all involved.
Christmas Nativity
December 19th 2006

Yet again, the children pulled off a fantastic performance of their Nativity play this year. There were a few tears to start with but any nerves were soon put to rest as they sung their way through a number of their favourite carols. After the show it was back to the classroom for children and parents to enjoy tea and cakes, with the added amusement of the Christmas Raffle.
